When is the best time to visit Texada Island?

Honestly, anytime is pretty great for outdoor activities on Texada Island. Summer is remarkable for the heat, sun and beautiful views. Fall is great for fishing and hunting. Winter is great for retreats or for spa days at the sauna and outdoor cold dip, or for clamming and gathering oysters. Our early spring makes it esay to get out on the kayak. Off-roading is fun almost any time of the year - well, except during the few days of snow we get. For the adventurer, it depends on the activities you enjoy.

Where can I find out about hiking trails on Texada Island?

Texada Island has hiking trails that range for very easy to difficult. The best source is alltrails.com

Is Rocky Valley Resort dog-friendly?

Well-behaved dogs are permitted in designated dog-friendly cottages, as well as around the resort on leash. There is an off-leash dog park nearby in Van Anda and one in Gillies Bay. Dogs must be leashed on beaches and trails on Texada Island.

Is Rocky Valley Resort wheelchair accessible?

Currently there are no sites that are wheelchair accessible, however, we are working on adding ramps to some tiny home cottages. The Resort itself is built in a rocky ravine that has been left mostly natural which would be difficult for a wheelchair.

Are we allowed to have open fires at Rocky Valley Resort?

Texada Island typically has a open fire ban from spring to fall, because our summers tend to be extremely dry. Typically, our firepits are still permitted unless the drought is worse than usual. When there is a fire ban, it is mandated by the fire department, and we have no choice but to comply. Our sites come with wood or gas firepits. Firewood and fuel is supplied.
